The Old Cigar Factory, Bedminster

The upper floors of this former cigar factory are being converted to residential use. Our client, Ellson Homes, wanted to find a creative use suitable for the ground floor of the building.

The height of the warehouse type space suggested an opportunity to lower the floor slightly, and introduce a new mezzanine floor with platform lift with feature spiral stair. This created a hi-tech workspace for 60 people. At the rear the sloping glazed roof will be remade to form a winter garden area for networking and coffee. Tall meeting rooms around the perimeter feature large areas of glazing.
