So 2016 has been a year of much activity for us (not withstanding the obvious external effects).

Building work is completed this month on the AEOB housing project at Battens Lane, and the Solarsense Renewable Energy Demonstration Centre, both illustrated below under construction -click the images to enlarge.

Battens Lane will provide six snug, energy-efficient, affordable flats, with shared facilities including a common room and laundry. It features high levels of insulation and airtightness, underfloor heating run from a shared boiler, solar pv for power and more.

Elsewhere the Solarsense project at Backwell includes a massive integrated solar pv roof including solar rooflights, ground source heat pump and MVHR along with smart energy controls.

The practice has assisted The Chantry Centre in Dursley by preparing proposals to support a S106 funding application, and Ellson Homes with space planning for a renovation of a former tobacco warehouse in Bristol as a high tech workspace for seventy people.

Looking into the new year, we await planning decisions on Staunton Manor Farm, and the Meadowvale Community Centre. We are preparing a planning application for a new self-build passivhaus in Wiltshire and a planning appeal in Bristol. Our research project, Steel Zero continues with the manufacture of the perforated stainless steel panels.

We are working with Bristol Community Land Trust on a feasibility for a new housing scheme in north Bristol, and with Pale Blue Dot on a mixed use community proposal for 'A Bond' a massive brick warehouse on the harbourside in Bristol (illustrated below)

Earlier in the year Sam passed his Part III, and Nerea has just completed her Passivhaus course with the Green Register.

Finally, we are ending the year with a christmas dinner prepared by the team at local hostelry Zitto and Bevi with donations going to Bristol Refugee Rights.
