Chantry Centre applies for S106 funds to enhance facilities

The Lister Social Centre and Chantry Hall is a community facility in the centre of Dursley. Originally built by the local engineering company R A Lister for their staff, the club was subsequently purchased by its members and now operates independently.

It provides a variety of facilities including a 300 seat theatre along with bars and function rooms. The buildings have been added to over time and are now need some rationalisation and modernisation.

The practice has been helping the committee prepare a bid for S106 funding arising from the housing development at the end of the road. We have developed proposals that rationalise the circulation and refine the spaces to meet Sport England standards. We have assisted in reviewing fire issues, accessibility, as well as generally enhancing the accommodation, including a new approach to the building.
